Westend's "Sit Down": A New Club Weapon

Westend, a rising force in the tech-house scene, has made noise with his latest release, "Sit Down," dropped on July 19th under his label, Trace Amounts. Known for his consistent support from industry giants like Diplo, MK, and Gorgon City, Westend again showcases his unique ability to create dance-floor-ready hits.

Rising Star in Tech-House

Westend's journey began with successful releases on respected labels such as Solotoko, Techne, Club Sweat, and Insomniac Records. His breakthrough year in 2021 saw him collaborate with NYC producer CID on a fresh take of Musique’s "Keep on Jumpin’," which peaked at #2 on Beatport’s charts and amassed nearly 4 million Spotify streams. His follow-up, "Get This Party Started," also achieved great success, maintaining a top 10 position on Beatport for over three months.

Embracing the Shutdown

The 2020 nightlife shutdown proved to be a pivotal moment for Westend. He utilized the extra studio time to mentor over a hundred tech house producers and fostered a collaborative community through his production Discord, Kick & Bass. This dedication to nurturing new talent has not only strengthened the tech house community but also kept Westend at the forefront of the genre.

Trace Amounts: A Platform for Talent

Westend's label, Trace Amounts, established in 2023 in NYC, has quickly become a hub for emerging tech-house talent. The label has featured artists such as Josh Samuel, Punctual, and Brainwreck, with rising stars like Cherry Tooth and Avilo set to release new music on the label early next month. Trace Amounts' first party on a boat in New York this past May showcased the label's commitment to innovative and memorable events.

A Vocally-Driven Club Track

"Sit Down" stands out as a club anthem, featuring vocals from Westend himself, a rarity in his discography. This personal touch has resonated with fans and fellow artists alike, with support from CID, Ship Wrek, and ZUEZEU in their sets and radio shows. The track has become a staple in Westend's live performances, further cementing the hype around the new single.

Celebrating Milestones with PROFOUND

Earlier this year, Westend helped PROFOUND celebrate 100,000 YouTube subscribers with a special guest mix. This mix included teasers of upcoming releases on Trace Amounts, building anticipation among fans. As Westend continues his 2024 summer tour with performances in Ibiza and a special B2B tour with J.Worra kicking off next month, "Sit Down" promises to be a defining track in his high energy performances.
